The stack
A deliverable research lab: distinct feature catalogs and assets built around edge and sandboxed compute, with identity and collaboration layers for the people who contribute to it. MicroVMs, a P2P mesh, an MCP control plane and an identity substrate.
The initiative
Programs that place the stack in direct-partnership enablement research with local businesses, so new systems are researched and built in situ, where the work actually happens.
Many layers, one system
Independently built components turned out to be more complementary than redundant. Rather than pick a winner, each contributes a distinct layer, read bottom-up from the base runtime to the workloads it hosts, with identity running underneath all of it.
- Base compute runtime: spawns, snapshots and restores checkpointable Linux microVMs. Already speaks MCP.
- Overlay networking and naming: Iroh (QUIC) transport, NodeId identity, .mesh DNS and a CRDT-gossiped service registry.
- Agent-facing sandbox: a Docker/E2B code and desktop sandbox exposed over MCP, the pattern now being ported onto the base runtime.
- App catalog and packaging: 38+ one-click app recipes and a dashboard/task-queue UX, the seed for a reusable deploy-manifest library.
- First real tenant workload: a reverse-proxy analytics and attestation-notary product, designed from the start to run on the base runtime.
- Identity substrate: narrow possession-proof and capability-token primitives (Ed25519, Gordian Envelope / dCBOR), not a general account system.

- Partners: help host a research residency! We’ll work with you to refine the stack best suited for your field's operations to research and build new systems alongside your teams.
- Providers: compute, network and identity providers can run as a layer or a tenant workload. Anything that speaks MCP plugs in without new integration work.
- Researchers: work on microVM isolation, P2P naming, agent sandboxes and possession proofs, and all the other micro solutions tailored to real world needs, and test them in the field with partners instead of in a lab.
